Hemophilia Walk at 95% of Goal

October 11, 2008

Goal: $50,000
As of October 11: Total Donations: $47,739
95%

All the thermometers are rising for the 2008 Hemophilia Walk! The forecast is calling for a great day and all the activities are planned and ready to go. The kids will enjoy a visit from the Morrisville Fire Company, face painting, an inflatable bounce game, a stilt walking juggler and a fun Halloween themed scavenger hunt along the Walk route.

In just the past four short days three new teams have joined on and we have 348 members who are now walking and fundraising, that's an average increase of 7 people every day - truly amazing! With your help, we are so close to reaching our $50,000 goal and are already 95% of the way there - thank you!

We have only one week left until the Walk and time is passing so quickly. This is a great time to make some follow up calls or send out a couple reminder emails and ask your friends, family and co-workers to support your efforts. If you need any help in registering walkers, entering offline donations or tips on customizing your messages, please let me know and I'd be happy to help!

We would like to welcome our new teams this week - The Holly Springs Stay @ Home Moms Team led by Lisa Cantor, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars led by captain Stevie Clark and The Y-Princess Wake Wildcats, led by Kevin Schilf. A warm welcome and thank you to all of you!

Some notable changes in just four days came from the Powhatan Pride team who continue to increase their donations and team members each week. Team Peyton is also on the board with almost $100 in donations in just these four short days. The Duke Factor's thermometer is rising quickly and they've increased their donations by 37% this week. The UNC Tarhealers, under the terrific leadership of Brenda Nielsen, are continuing to grow quickly with 16 members now registered and increasing their donations by $250 in four days - that's an average of $62 a day - WOW!

I decided not to highlight teams on this email but instead share with you a photo view of your walk route. If you have not been to the park, you are in for a beautiful day. Remember to bring your cameras and even a blanket for a picnic lunch by the water after the Walk!

Thank you so very much to everyone who is working so hard to make this Walk a success. I know we are going to have a great day and do some wonderful things for the community.

Remember, it's never too late to make a difference and every step counts! Visit the site today at www.hemophilia.org/walk and look at all the great teams and messages!
